• 1. From which cities can I take flights to Lhasa?

  Nowadays, there are several big cities in China managing flights to Lhasa, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Chengdu and so on. I recommend that you take flights to Lhasa from these cities, because these cities are the most popular tourist destinations.

• 2. From which cities can I take trains to Lhasa?

  At present, there are direct trains to Lhasa from Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xining, Chongqing and Guangzhou. All trains will have a stop at Xining Xi Railway Station, and then run on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the highest railway on the world.
  Due to Go-to-Tibet train tickets are quite popular and always sold out quickly, please make your enquiry at least 3-5 months before your departure date. Because the sleeper tickets from Beijing to Lhasa are few and hard to get, we recommend you to take a flight to Xining, and then take train from Xining to Lhasa.

• 3. What is the best time to have a Tibet tour?

  The months from April to early November are suitable for travelling to Tibet, and the best time is August and September. But if you only stay in Lhasa, you can go there any time of the year. Different areas in Tibet have different climate and weather.

• 4. What is the best time to tour Mount Everest?

  The months from early May to later September are the best time to visit Mt. Everest. During the period, the weather is clear, so you will have a good chance to see the real face of Mt. Everest ( if you are lucky ). Except you are a real Great Adventure person, don’t go there because it is too cold.

• 5. Can I travel Tibet with children?

  Tibet is not a good destination for young children, due to its high altitude, harsh climate and simple facilities. In addition, the attractions are not those which children like to visit. If you do decide to bring your young child to Tibet, please make sure that you bring all your child’s daily needs with you.

• 6. Are the Tibetan dogs are dangerous?

  Tibetan dogs are dangerous. In Tibetan areas, most of locals like to feed dogs to keep their security. When meeting a dog on the road, please do not approach any stray or wild dogs you see and carry a stick if you plan to wander off on your own or at any time after dark.
