Hi Avremi, yes, the trains are open to the foreign travelers. However we usually don't recommend our clients to make a round trip by trains. We always arrange our travelers to have a loop trip combined with road and railway - travel to Shigatse by Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse highway with visiting the Yamdrtso Lake, Karola Glacier, Gyantse Pelkor Monastery etc, and return to Lhasa by Shigatse-Lhasa Railway along the Yalutsangpo River after Shigatse sightseeing. It is the best way to have both unparalleled land sightseeing and railway experience.
