Lhasa's four main koras (pilgrim circuits) are well worth walking, especially during the Saga Dawa festival, when the distinction between tourist and pilgrim can become very fine. Remeber always to proceed clockwise.
>> Nangkhor: Encircles the inner precincts of the Jokhang.
>> Barkhor: Traces the outskirts of the Jokhang.
>> Lingkhor: You can join the 8km-long circuit anywhere, but the most interesting section is from the southeastern old town to the Potala Palace.
>> Potala Kora (Tsekhor): Any almost continuous circuit of prayer wheels, chortens (Tibetan stupas), rock paintings and chapels encircles the Potala Palace. Stop for sweet tea en route at the charming teahouse by the three white chortens on the northwest corner.
