Hi Michael, June is the summer time, and the average temperature in Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse is 10?~23?, but once you arrive at the Mt.Everest Base Camp, it will be very cold, the temperature is usually 2-8 degrees, but due to the wind chill it feels much lower and colder, so be prepared with warm clothing, caps and jackets. Besides, be prepared with some medicines, as it has a high possibility to get some cold, headache or fever during the Everest Base Camp tour.
Yes, you can stay in tents, which will be a great experience, but the food condition is poor in the tents, so be prepared with some packed foods, dry fruits, cookies and drinks.
