Lhasa to Shigatse Train & Railway – Tibet Travel News
The second railway line in Tibet, an extension of the Qinghai-Tibet railway, the world’s highest, was officially put into use on Aug.15,2014. The 253-km railway line links Lhasa and Shigatse, reducing the travel time between the two cities from the current four hours by highway to around two hours.
The train journey involves 14 stations, traveling along the Yarlung Zangbo River and through the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.
