Tibetan New Year, or Losar, is one of the most important festival in the Tibetan calendar. The festival often falls in February or March, and on February 19-21, 2015. It is traditionally celebrated for weeks, but nowadays it is celebrated for three days.

For Tibetans, Losar is like Christmas, New Year, and most Tibetans go home for the festival, as it is a family union holiday. Losar festival is characterized especially by dancing, music, and a general spirit of merrymaking.
