What’s the Schedule of the Train from Beijing to Lhasa?

The Beijing-Lhasa train Z21 departs from Beijing West Railway Station at 20:10 and arrives at Lhasa Railway Station at 13:03 on the third day. It is the only scheduled train from Beijing to Lhasa via the Qinghai-Tibet railway. And the return train Z22 departs from Lhasa at 15:30 and arrives at Beijing West Railway Station at 8:20 on the third day.

There are usually 4 hard-seat cars, 8 hard-sleeper cars, 2 soft-sleeper cars and 1 dining car on every Tibet train. At the end of each car, there are two bathrooms, public sinks and a hot water dispenser. Since there is no shower onboard, you can bring some wet wipes.

One of the unique facilities onboard Tibet Train is the oxygen supply system. There are 2 kinds of oxygen supply systems equipped onboard. One is a ‘dispersion-mode’ system, which spreading oxygen in the train cars through air-conditions when passing Golmud. The other one is directly used by passengers through individual oxygen outlet. Usually, the oxygen outlets are placed on the wall, the head of each bunk and under the hard seats.
